1996 : HMIL is formed on 6th May 1996 in India and on 10th December 2024 a Plant Inauguration ceremony was done at Chainnai.

1998 : 23 September 1998 Hyundai Motors India Ltd launch its first car in India which is Hyundai Santro.

1999 : 31st March 1999 Hyundai Motor India Ltd established as the second largest auto-manufacturer in India.

2000 : In June 2000 Hyundai Santro crosses mark of 100,000 car sales and In November Company Roll out of the 1,50,000th car from Chennai Plant in just 25 months.

2001 : Company launched its luxury Sedan car Sonata and it’s both Santro & Accent cars ranked No. 1 in JD Power Asia Pacific 2001 “APEAL” study.

2004 : Hyundai Motors India Ltd crossed the figure of 1, 00,000 vehicles export and become the largest exporter in the automobile industry.
